First Female Eleves (RiderTrainees) Accepted at Spanish Riding School September 4, 2008. It is history in the making! Chief Rider Hausberger reports that the Spanish Riding School has selected the first two female eleves ever accepted into the training program. He says that one is an Austrian citizen and the other is a citizen of another European Union country but currently living in New York. However, she will not also be the first non-Austrian citizen to be accepted as an eleve. There have been others in the years since they offered the opportunity to citizens of all European Union countries but none have ever survived long enough to complete their training.
