Update |
| Pergolide, the medication for
horses with Cushings, has been withdrawn as a human medication as
of 3/27/07 by the FDA prompting wholesale sources of this
medication to discontinue pergolide.
My personal interest in this is because my
Professor Tiz, who just celebrated his 26th birthday and 5 years
on pergolide for his Cushings, needs this medication and my vet is
having a difficult time finding it. [Note: thanks to
Susie, Tiz now has his pergolide and is doing just fine.]
“Hope is never gone until you choose to
abandon it,” a phrase frequently used by Dr. Eleanor Kellon,
Co-owner and Moderator of the Yahoo Equine Cushings and Insulin
Resistance Group, with a membership of 5000 and growing.
What is the
situation with pergolide.
What you can do about it. |
