Grand Prix Special
Farbenfroh has won the admiration of the crowd
at Sydney. They gave him a standing ovation. He is simply awesome
and at 10, we should be able to enjoy his performances for many years to
come.
Bonfire was on today and the judges rewarded him. 78.13% enough to take the lead for the combined Grand Prix and Special with an average of 76.56%, total points 153.13. Isabell Werth's Gigolo looked a bit tired -- "Not his day, lots of baubles." and finished with a 75.48%, two day total of 151.99%. Only 1.14% points separate Bonfire and Gigolo.
Each test counts one-third in the Individual
medal competition. Tomorrow's freestyle will determine the medal
winners.
Nadine Cappellmann's Farbenfroh earned a 76.60
from the judges but would have been placed first by the crowd. He is
absolutely awesome.
Ulla Salzegeber's Rusty earned 10s -- the
first of these games and finished with a 76.74.

point error) in the extended walk turning down the long side at B instead
of making the 90 degree turn from B to H. More mistakes including breaking
into piaffe at M, kicking in the piaffe and passage, earned a 63.90 in the
Special with a combined finish in 23rd place, out of the freestyle
competition tomorrow.
The day startsd very foggy, but quickly
cleared as the sun came out and it got hot. The competition was so
good, we didn't notice the heat.
