United States
of America
The USA has won 1 team silver and 1 individual bronze
and 4 team bronze Olympic
Dressage Medals
Unofficial USET 4/22/00
With two USET Qualifiers
remaining before the Selection trials in Florida starting May 12, the top
twelve riders are still not determined. The Official
USET Standings as of April 20 do not include Heidelberg Cup nor dropping
the lowest score if there are more than two scores. Our Unofficial
Standings including Heidelberg Cup and dropping the lowest score, result
in Michael Barisone making the top 12.
Twelve riders with the highest
average Grand Prix scores from the Qualifiers will be invited to compete in
the Selection Trials. A rider may compete two horses as could Robert
Dover with Everest and Rainer and Guenter Seidel who actually has four
horses qualified but may only ride two: Foltaire, Guerido, Metallic
and Aristocrat. Michael Barisone has Safir qualified and may make it
to the top 12 with Dotato.
Rules Summary:
-
Only the Grand Prix Scores
Count (not the GP Special nor GP Freestyle)
-
Must have at least two Grand
Prix scores from the Qualifiers - one may be the new Grand Prix
short test, but one must be the full Grand Prix test which will
be ridden at Sydney
-
Each rider must have
competed in two qualifiers and ridden a Grand Prix plus a Grand Prix
Special in one qualifier and a Grand Prix and a Grand Prix Freestyle in
a second qualifier.
-
US riders in Europe may
qualify there and not compete in the Selection Trials BUT their average
score must be 2 percentage points higher than the third place finisher
at the Selection Trials.
Unofficially the 12 riders with
Del Mar in California and Westchester Fairfield in New York qualifiers next
