Jean-Claude Racinet Jean-Claude Racinet died Saturday, April 25, 2009. He was born June 2, 1929 in France, a son of the late Arthur Joseph Racinet and Marie Baptistine Astier Racinet. Surviving are his wife, Susan M. Rozell-Racinet; four daughters, Marie-Gabrielle and Genevieve of France, Sarah and Amy of South Carolina; one son, Jean-Francois of Lexington; and five grandchildren. JC suffered a fall from a horse he was riding in a clinic in Germany last fall and never recovered from his injuries. Jean-Claude or JC as he was known was the author of many articles (especially in Dressage & CT) and books on dressage including Another Horsemanship: A Manual of Riding in the French Classical Tradition (1994) and Racinet Explains Baucher - a compliation of 13 essays originally published by Dressage & CT (1997) He is known for "Riding in Lightness", his philosophy as well as the title of his magazine and book.
